Homepage won't display after recent Windows Update

Since the most recent Windows Update last week I am no longer able to view my
ISP's home page - www.rr.com - in Internet Explorer, it loads blank. I called
the ISP and they say they have been flooded with calls like mine, and they
say it's a change in ActiveX controls that Microsoft made in their most
recent Windows Update.

I am able to load the page in FireFox with no problem.

I have tried disabling all firewall and internet security software (just in
case), and I do have the latest Flash/Shockave plugins installed otherwise it
wouldn't load in FireFox either)

My system specs:
XP Pro SP2 - Up to date
Pentium 4 2.4Ghz, 1gb RAM, 128mb ATI Radeon 9700 Pro
Internet Explorer Version: 6.0.2900.2180.xpxp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519
128 bit cipher

Any advice would be appeciated, thank you.

I'm having the same problem, it's really frustrating! I've contacted several
people, got many suggestions, but nothing is working! I think its crap that
you pay good money for your RR and you can't use the homepage due to some
unexplained problem! If you figure it out, post so we all can have some
closure!

I got it to work! At first, I downloaded and ran it directly from the
download and even with a restart it didn't work. Then I downloaded and saved
it to desktop and then opened it and restarted and my roadrunner homepage was
up and running. Go figure.

Hi hat,

I just posted what RR live chat gave me and this actually worked because our
old homepage links were made invalid by the update from microsoft. Read
"SOLUTIONS TO RR HOMEPAGE ISSUE" which should be at the top of this
newsletter or close to it. Also, that issue you are having with the
scrolling is addressed on the microsoft web site to wit : they are working on
a solution. But the rest of it works. Be sure you do the macromedia link.
