History folder won't log sites anymore - Please help

Two days ago I came across a site that didn't seem quite right, like if it
was downloading something on my computer so I closed out IE6 and now my
History folder doesn't work.
I've tried the following:

-System Restore - Didn't work to make my History folder work again
-Ad-aware - Removed Alexa from my registry
-Microsoft AntiSypware - Found nothing
-McAfee Virus Scan - Found nothing

None of these options worked to make my History folder to work again.

Is there anything else I can do to make my History folder start working again?

Your History may be damaged or corrupted. Try the following and see if it
helps:

How create a new History Folder

Free History Eraser from
http://smartprotector.com/eraser/free-history-eraser.htm will delete the
History folder and a new one will be created when you restart.

Or the History folder can be deleted manually:

You might need to delete the damaged History folder- a new one will be
created on restart.

Free History Eraser from

The only thing is, I don't want to lose the history I already have, I use my
History daily. If I delete my History folder will I lose all the entries I
have up to the point of where it stopped working?
