Help my XP pc wont boot up!

I Recently tried to start a new internet connection to NTL
during the setup my system crashed and would not reset,
now when I turn the power on nothing happens - no lights
on my keyboard, no action from my monitor either just the
power light and the fan comes on and when I try to reset,
it wont,- the only way to get the power off is by pulling
the plug at the wall. Can anyone here help me please is
this a virus or something worse. Or if you cant help could
u please point me in the direction of where I should look.

Do u hear some beeps? usually your motherboard is configured in such a way
that the number and length of those beeps indicate a certain hardware
problem (which i think your problem is)...
