Martin O'Donnell

I Recently tried to start a new internet connection to NTL
during the setup my system crashed and would not reset,
now when I turn the power on nothing happens - no lights
on my keyboard, no action from my monitor either just the
power light and the fan comes on and when I try to reset,
it wont,- the only way to get the power off is by pulling
the plug at the wall. Can anyone here help me please is
this a virus or something worse. Or if you cant help could
u please point me in the direction of where I should look.
Thank you,

Viruses don't do this stuff. If you basically get
nothing, there is a hardware problem. It may be something
stupid or something wrong. Unplug every non-essential
external device, mouse, joystick, router, etc. Open the
case and disconnect the ribbon cables from the drives. I
have had a bad drive screw up the system. Essentially,
pull everything. If you are down to motherboard, video
card, RAM, CPU, Heatsink, and keyboard, but still don't
get a boot, something is REALLY wrong. Listen for beeps.
If pulling someting specific fixes it, that may be the
problem. This could be a bad hard drive crash or an
overheated CPU, or more.
