Computer Would not Start (OS XP Professional) Please Help!

Hello Gurus,
I am novice to the hardware issues. Pleas help.
This started occuring from 2 or 3 days, The system shuts down abruptly
like a power plug is pulled, then it would not start for long period
like for an hour or two, if I try to pull the plug and put the plug
back in, I see the green lights on the power switch and the reset
switch, I also see a light on mother board, it simply wont boot, I
dont hear any noice nothing. If I keep doing it for many times
suddenly it boots and stays for half an hour or an hour and suddenly
dies, it wont shutdown it dies like someone pulls the plug off.

when it boots I see the fan on the processor is running and the fan
which is attached to the back of the box is not running.

Any ideas or suggestions that I should try?

Sounds like the power supply cooling fan is not working. The other symptoms
could be the result of the power supply overheating. If you are comfortable
doing so, try replacing the power supply. If not, take it to a computer
repair shop.
