HELP! HELP! Cannot Register Online

F

Fouad Bakht

I own a Compaq Computer and Windows XP Pro came prei-
intalled on it. I have factory-restored my PC number of
times and subsequently registered Windows successfully.
The product is already activated. Now yesterday when i
restored my computer again, I wanted to register Windows
XP Pro but this time the wizard said "Registration Wizard
Cannot send your information to Microsoft. Fill out and
mail the yellow card that came with this product". I
tried again but its been almost 24-hours since i'm
helplessly trying to register online in futile because my
copy of Windows XP Pro is an OEM version and does not
have a "Yellow Card". Please help me resolve this issue
urgently.

Asked and answered already. Please check your first post and wait up to 24
hours to receive answers. Do not post twice before checking the first post.
1 - You don't need to regsiter. This is optional. It only gives you one free
tech support call. Not worth it at all.
2 - If you do regster, you only do it once. Once the product is registered
in your name its registered. You don't need to register it again after every
re-install.
3 - Activation must be done after every re-install, as you did, and it went
thru fine so your all set.

There is really no need to register your OEM, preinstalled version
of Windows XP with Microsoft. The computer manufacturer, and
not Microsoft, is responsible for supporting your OEM version.
You should visit the Compaq support website and register your
system with Compaq.
