Help, Blaster Worm Patch for XP SP2?

I just purchased XP PRO with Service Pack 2.
I also have the latest defenition updates for Norton Anti-
virus.

The blaster Worm is attacking my system and crashing it
every five minutes i'm connected to the net.

I can't install the Patch "WindowsXP-KB823980-x86-ENU"
as it displays an error relating to the SP2?

Since we have not released SP2 it is unlikely that you have "purchased"
Windows XP with SP2.
Please check what you think you actually bought.

The Blaster patch was released some months ago.
Windows Update will ensure you have the latest ;patches etc.

You did not just buy Windows XP Pro with Service Pack 2.
If you actually did purchase it, that means you bought an illegally
copy since SP2 has not yet been released.
Contact the seller for a refund immediately.

Otherwise if you actually have Windows XP Pro with SP1 and your
unprotected computer caught Blaster, follow this to get rid of
Blaster:
