having problems with autorun/autoplay

im loading the sims onto xp, and the cd loads and nothing happens. i tried manually starting it and nothing still happens. lastly, under control panel, i clicked on add or remove programs, selected my cd drive, install shield ran, and then it said autoplay failed to shut down; and restart the computer

Hi William,

What happens if you copy the CD to your drive and install
from there directly? Post the error message if there is one.
