Hardware Profiles

I just loaded Vista on my laptop and I am trying to find the settings to
create docked and undocked profiles. I've looked under the hardware tab where
it used to be in XP/2000 but there is only an empty space. How do you set
profiles under Vista then?

In XP you can create profiles manually and this can be confusing.
Actually, profiles work best with appropriate hardware support.
Wnen this hardware is available, XP will create the profile automatically.
An example of modern system that has such hardware support
is Lenovo T60 with it's mini-dock.

Probably for Vista MS decided to create profiles only automatically
to avoid confusion in hi-tech journalists <g>
