Automated creation of hardware profiles

Hello

We have a large number of Windows XP laptops and we need to add four
different hardware profiles to these laptops (for various combinations of
docked / undocked / wireless / network / modem enabled and disabled).

Adding these profiles manually is very time consuming and I wondered if
anyone had information on how the process of creating the hardware profiles
could be automated.

Just a thought, on a computer that is already configured, you might export
from the registry here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\IDConfigDB\Hardware
Profiles\ and import on a computer without the profiles yet created and see
what you get. Good luck.
