hard drve location

After I attach a memory card reader to a USB port, I have drives e,f,g,h.
Then I turn on my firewire external hard drive and it is labeled as drive I.


BUT, I can't locate the drive with windows explorer. Device Manager says it
is installed and working correctly and the administration tools says it is
labeled as Drive I. How do I locate and use drive I?

Did the removal drive icon appear in the system tray? Did you try safely
removing it from there and then reattach it back again?

Yes I did the removal and attach procedures, but with the memory card reader
attached to the USB port and the external hardrive attached to the firewire
port,, the external hard drive is not listed in the windows explorer or "my
computer" but is listed as "I" drive in the device manager and
administrator hardware lists.
