Generic host process crashed

Hi,
Everytime I connect to my dial-up connection, after 10-15 min, there's
a pop-up windows saying generic host process has crashed. And after it
I lost my internet connection, and some application won't run. That
happened to me 3 times consecutively this morning, and there's one time
I received and automatic shut-down message (possibly virus?). I haven't
tried to run antivirus on my laptop, because I can't update the
definition files (since I got no internet). Screenshot links below. Any
suggestion to this problem? Thanks.

Hi,

Check for spyware first, not a virus.

Windows help - www.rickrogers.org

Try this: Go to control panel - administrative tools - services.
double click on each service - click on the log on tab - click on local
system account - put a check in the box for, "allow service to interact with
the desktop. Do this for each service. Restart the computer. go to dial-up
and connect.
Best Wishes, JaCarr
