With a compliment to all contestants I would like to vote for nr. 15. I
vote for the whole set, so if this one wins, people can choose which one
to use.

I'm seeing that "The Freeware Faerie" is the most voted.
I don't like it, I can't imagine how a naked woman (even with wings) could
be linked with "freeware". It has also a cartoon style that seems to me too
much childish.

I don't have the English language skills to express better my thoughts,
anyway I want at least underline that I'm not a bigot strict minded person,
on the contrary I'm liberal and love broad-mindedness.

here in acf over a year one vote thread follows the other. So acf
traffic consists primarely of votings. This is not a good development of
this NG, IMO.

I find that image inappropriate, off on its own track, not standing for the
kind of things most of us feel to be represented in freeware.

Thing is, Maria, I think we have nothing to worry about. While I haven't
counted, I've the impression that there is a good landslide of votes in
favor of the "Wings of freeware" image.

Here's my proposition. How about someone take Jean-Claude Van Damme's
fine male form as inspirational model, long legs draped, all smooth
and nude, sexual come-hither look, add some wings, and then have him
be our freeware faeire? It's only fair. =)

Well, ok... I spose I'll just go ahead and put in a gender-neutral vote
for "Wings of freeware." (Or one of R Sandee's variations on that image

Heavens to Betsy, omega, steady on! Aren't things bad enough already?

Actually, I have nothing against nekked wimmin. Perhaps I should
rephrase that. It's not the nudity that upsets me, nor even such
vacuous, wishy-washy sexuality as the image might contain. No, it's
the whole cosily supernatural, childish
wish-the-world-were-other-than-it-is mindset that spoils my lunch. If
I found fairies at the bottom of my garden I'd dig 'em in as
fertiliser. Seems to me the less-hairy ape is already stupid enough
without working at it so hard.

I agree with that wholeheartedly. Sorry for messing your post around
for my own ends, omega.
