Force new windows to open maximized.

WinXP Home ed.
While online using IE 6 is there any way to cause any additional window
opened [from within IE, say at a link] to open as maximized by default?
I have set the initial IE window to open maximized as selected via IE
properties/shortcut, but would like all other windows opened subsequently
from the active IE window to also open maximized by default.

Hi Jim,

This is a known "feature". Open IE and click on any link.

Close the original window.

Size the new window to full-screen by dragging the edges, *not* by hitting
the maximise button.

Now close the window.

Job done.

Evidently the trick is to <i>CLOSE THE ORIGINAL WINDOW</i>.
I had tried your solution without first closing the original IE window.
It's so easy when you know the language!
