How to maximize window when opening new folder

Whenever I open a new folder in Windows XP (Office 2003), the new window
opens in a minimized state. Is there a way to set it to default to open in a
maximized state?

You can try resetting the Folder Settings from the folder Options
Go to Start > Control Panel > Folder Options > View > Restore Defaults >
and then Apply to All Folders

*** Do this if you have NOT customized any folder or icons and so on ***

Let us know if this fixed the problem.

catwoman,
Into the "Search Microsoft.com for:" box, type "open new window maximized"
(without the quotes).

See if any of the varied answers there fit your situation. Unfortunately,
there is no universal answer to fit all cases. Quite often, the new window
will open minimized/maximized depending upon the size from the previous usage.
