Window Maximize

How can I solve this problem? When I maximize a window and later shut
the computer down. When I then start up the computer again that window
is in the restored position, not the maximized view. What am I doing
wrong or where is the setting that will keep it as I last set it? This
is not a folder window.

In control panel---folder options---view tab--put an X on 'remember each
folders view settings'.
