File limitations? - My Pictures screensaver

Hi - I have selected the correct directory for the display of pictures using
this standard XP screensaver but the program does not appear to be reading
all the files.
Although it is supposedly random it appears to only be using pictures from
the first 10 (The main plus first 9 additional sub-directories - including
all the sub-directories to those 9 files) - at least that is the way it
seems...
Anyone know if there is a limitation on the files to be read - or is
something else?

Have tried scrolling forwards through the pictures using the arrow key but
one worn out finger later I still seem to be getting the same results.

I only noticed this as I recently added about 350 pics from my last trip and
realised that none of them were coming up...

Any ideas?

Just a thought...

I would suggest that you copy all the pictures
you wish to be in the screensaver into a
single folder and...on the screen saver tab...
go to...Settings button / Use Pictures In This Folder /
browse to and select the new folder / OK / OK /
Apply / OK.

Thanks John - did think about it but have rather too many pictures to
duplicate them in a single file... Am going to try renaming the files to
change their order, in order to test theory on number of files that the
program will use and take it from there.

Have just renamed the folder from 'Places' to 'A Places' and it is now the
first folder that pictures are selected from. Am now going to reduce the
number of folders withinin the 'Pictures' folder to 9 (making 10 in all as
per original post) and will see what happens - can't see any reason why the
program would be written to be restricted in this way - but if it turns out
to be the case then I guess I'll have to look to another product...

Good job I have some time on my hands...!
Have renamed folders, moved folders around etc and have concluded that the
restriction is not with the folder numbers or structure but is related to the
sheer volume of picture files within the folders - approx 8000. I would have
expected the program to cope but am guessing that it is limited to 8x8x8x8 =
4096 - but not prepared to waste further time counting and scrolling through
to find the last image included...
Time to look for a new program that will include all pics within the
specified directory.
Regards.
