External DVD-writer

Hi:
There are many, many photos accumulated over the years
and I want to 'burn' all of those photos by using DVD-Rs.

However, the computer has only 'DVD-rom' which can
read, but not able to burn/write. For that reason, I am
planning to buy 'external DVD-burner' through Amazon com.

Wonder which external DVD-burner is suitable to my needs,
for burning many, many photos?
The computer is XP with IE 6 manufactured by the HP that
I purchased about one and a half years ago.

Buy an internal DVD-RW Dual layer drive that can read and
write to all format DVD and CDs as well. If you have a
CD-RW and the DVD-ROM, replace the CD-RW with the DVD-RW.
It will be less expensive and not use any desk space.

How do your system requirements measure up..? HP what, Pavilion, what model
#, ie HP pavilion 850, 950, etc..?
