Event Viewer

hi

i'm having a little problem that when i try to see the logs of the
applications or security in the event viewer i get "unable to complete the
operation on (Application), Access Denied.". there is only one user (me) on
this pc so i'm the administrator so i should have access to it.

Kdebrain,

Try a few things that might help narrow the problem down. Boot into safe
mode. Does the problem still occur? If so, that's bad. You might have to do
a repair of your install (from the XP disk).

Before you do that though, try performing a clean boot of XP, and see if the
problem occurs. Instead of writing out all the intricacies of doing such,

Thanks patrick i tried both safe & clean boot but same result......i think
this problem started once i installed Windbg to debug a dump file.
