Event Viewer

Is there a way to prevent events from showing up in the Event Viewer?

We have a persistent event, but unfortunately, there is no "fix" for the
root of the problem.

Thanks in advance!

It depends on the application reporting the event. In certain cases it is
possible to configure it to be less "verbose". What is the event that you
want to suppress?

Type: Warning
Source: MMReceiver
Event ID 3504

Description
Network transport error. Error talking to client <IP Address>
Socket closed unexpectedly

The "MMReceiver" is NetIQ's Mail Marshall anti-spam and anti-virus on our
mail relay (IIS 5 SMTP).

Thanks for your help!

I haven't used this product so I don't know if you can change its logging
settings. Even if it is possible, you might loose other events that may be
important (I understand that this is caused by spamming servers). One
possible workaround is to use an event viewer that has filtering
capabilities (to exclude this event from being displayed). Take a look at
EvLog for example (http://www.altairtech.ca/evlog/).
