Event logs empty

Windows 2000 advanced server, logged in as Administrator - the event
logs are totally empty; shows 0 items, and the event log service is
started. Why can't I see the events?

I performed some research on this and it turns out that we have seen some
"blank event log" issues that were resolved by applying the following
hotfix.

829246 Event Logs Are Corrupted
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=829246

You will want to call in to Microsoft Product Support Services and get the
hotfix associated with this article. There is no charge for this call.
