ERROR message

I keep getting dreaded blue screen crashes in Win XP home
with the message "error - unknown hard STOP c000007b
the computer has to be switched off at the power socket
on the wall and restarted, IS this a faulty memory?, I
first suspected the hard disk, but it happens on a new
disk as well, any ideas please?
