Received the following message after disconnecting one of
my five hard drives:

A problem is preventing Windows from accurately checking
the license for this computer. Error Code: 0x800703e6

It was one of the drives I had connected with an ATA card
and was not the C:. D:, or E: drive. Now I can't do
anything but get into Safe Mode. Please help, I'm dead
and don't know where to go from here.

Thanks in advance. Gene

One non-satisfying thing - have you tried reattaching
the hard disk (to see if it makes a difference, and if so
to give you a chance to make needed backups, etc.) ?

Normally, removing a non-system/non-boot disk should
not have an impact on activation, and at any rate when
activation is triggered it is a graceful prompting to have
you activate. The message you mentioned is what one
sees when the wpa file gets whacked/corrupted. If this
is the case you can do an upgrade/repair install of the
existing install, which will reset the activation. However,
do not just jump into this as you will need the CD and key,
and all post-install service (service pack1 plus security
patches).
