Easier way to use own designed template

Hi to all PPT users, i've a question based on request from my parents. If i
created a background for example a JPEG/JPG file, how do i apply that file
into a PPT design template. I tried saving it as *.POT but when i chose the
template the background of my presenation is just simple white not the
background i expected.

Any1 knows how to do this? i also tried using the auto content wizard but it
still won't show; oh btw i'm using office XP and i think it's still SP1.

You need to set it up in the master slide (View, Master, Slide Master)
You can then delete any slide in the presentation and then save the 'empty'
presentation as a template
All new presentations based on this template will then have whatever
coloured background/graphics etc that are in the slide master
