how do I design my own PPT Template

I want to create a ppt design template from a .jpg that I will use as a
background. I did a "save as" from a slide I made based on a standard .pot -
it shows up in my template list with the thumbnail showing my pocture, but
when I format/desisgn, it just gives me a blank slide.???

Jimmsl,
You have to use your jpg in the master, put it there as a background. View -
master - slide master - format background ...
When you are finished return to the presentation, do not make any slides
just save as a template.
That should do it.

This got me started in the right direction - after selecting background/fill
.... select the arrow under fill and select the tab "picture" to insert
picture.

I would never have found this feature - thanks a lot.
