DVD recorder not recognized after I have installed roxio

I am able to use both of my dvd player and recorder to coppy DVDs but when I
try to use the drive to record dvds off of my video camera using either Win
DVD or Roxio they are both telling me that there is no recording device on my
pc. I have went everywhere to update all the firmware and software but still
no change.

I'm having exactly the same problem at the moment. unfortunately all i can
offer you is my empathy and sympathy. If you find any way to sort it out i
would be very grateful and in the meantime If I can find a way i will let you
know.

I put together some photos of new years eve, i can watch dvds and run cds
and as far as i know I can burn cds, but not dvd, and I want to cry!

I am going to try what roxio suggested;
