Dumping Norton - Grisoft AVG - Best Freeware Antivirus?

First off, many thanks to those who offered advice on my "Norton won't
auto-protect" situation coupled with the "WMI is corrupted issue".

Did a re-install and everything's fine.

That said, I'm not interested in Norton anymore (if anyone can tell me how
to get a refund I'd appreciate it) and I've read that McAfee is a bit
complex.....so......

Can anyone recommend a free antivirus program that I could run for awhile?
I've read some good things about Grisoft's AVG.....anyone use it?

TIA

Good luck in getting a refund. I have used Norton Anti-virus for years and
have never had a problem with it.

For the record, so did I. Was very happy on my 98SE machine, but not Mr.
XP.

New computer, new problems I guess.....

I use AVG and it works just fine. I have never had any problems with it and
I've used it for almost three years now.
