Hi,

Can someone tell me if I need to do anything special re a driver upgrade
from a Geforce MX460 to a new Ati 9600XT card. I am running Windows XP
Professional and wondered if I needed to uninstall the Geforce Nvidia
drivers first or not?

Thanks for any advice,

John.

not strictly necessary but a very good idea to uninstall the geforce driver
first. Also a good idea to reset to a standard vga adapter before installing
the radeon card and drivers.

Removing the old drivers indeed is usefull, programs like Nasty File
Remover will help with removing the trash the Uninstaller doesn't
works!

I just upgraded from an MX440 to a 9600XT (and what a difference!) After
reading some previous posts to this group I downloaded DriverCleaner2
from http://www.driverheaven.net/cleaner/ and had no problems.

"Why do we use answering machines to screen calls and then have call
waiting so we won't miss a call from someone we didn't want to talk to in
the first place?"
