Does anyone know of any good DVD burner hardware out there compatible with Windows XP?

As I said, from my experience it has been working flawlessly. Unless
your own experience with the 7.5 version is diferent, you have no right
to make statements to the contrary.

Actually, I don't quite agree.

Here's an example: lots of people had no trouble with Pinnacle Studio
8. If theirs were the only posts I read, I would have blamed myself and
gone crazy trying to figure out what I was doing wrong.

Luckily, people who decided they had the right to contradict those who
had no problem saved me that trouble, and when my Pinnacle gave me
troubles, I just sacked it...

Of course, it would be more intellectually honest and more useful to
the readers to say "I've had all this trouble..." or "Many people
report that..." or whatever, rather than the blanket pronouncement that
"It's a piece of crap".

And these contradictions were based on what? Perhaps lots of people had
no problem with PS8, but somebody had to have had some, otherwise there
would be no need for anybody to contradict "it works fine for me"
statements..

I have no problems with calling crap "crap". My objection is to making
blanket statements based on historic reputations as opposed to
present-day evidence.

There are two possible reasons for such insane behavior.

1) The user is too stupid to know when something is broken. Ignorance
is bliss.

2) The user does not want to admit they have wasted their money on
crap, so they lie about it.

Tigers do not change their stripes. Once crap, always crap.

Why do you think a company changes its name. They want to create a new
image, free from the problems of the past.

Ho hum. I just finished an idiotic argument somewhere else, and I
really don't feel like getting into another one here. But just in case
you are not aware, if I create a disk that works problem free, then it
is not broken, regardless of what you want to believe.

NO money involved. Your statement is useless.

Thanks for narrowing this down for us Bob in your usual insightful manner.

Yep, that is indeed an idiotic argument.

If I sell you a coffee maker that works when you make 6 cups but
breaks when I try to make 12 cups, then you would declare that the
coffee maker is not broken because it works for you.

Idiot.

Another idiot statement. Ulead charges money for MF4, assuming you
want to use it after the trial period.

So WinXP is no better than Win98. Right?

WinXP is crap.

Otherwise why would over half the machines in the business world be
running Win2K.

OK, have it your way. I'll change my question: So Win2K is no better
than Win98. Right?

It is worth mentioning that Googling for Nero problems show around 1.69
million hits - hardly an indication of a trouble free product. LOL

It is an indicator on how many people are using it against Roxio,
also the level of support available.

You sure act like one.

EZ Creator was OK when Adaptec had it. But Roxio screwed it over a
good one and now it is a genuine pos.

You contradict your own posts as you saying in another post:

"The last time I used EZ Creator, its wizard crashed Windows.

So I crashed it to the trash bin. That was before Roxio took over and
before Nero got its act together."

And please stop shouting as is also a sign of a newbie!

So it okay when you act like a newbie, but you tell everyone else that they
shouldn't?

PS seeing I am not sure if I am a newbie I have top posted and bottom posted
(but the top one feels better)

Sorry I seemed to have top posted!

Well, stop doing it.

I think AOL has something called "Top Posters Anonymous" where you can
work out your obsession for top posting.
