Disabling Windows Antivirus

I just purchased ZoneAlarm Security Suite and my confirmation email stated
this:

"If you choose to run the ZoneAlarm antivirus feature in your product,
please be sure to un-install any other antivirus product you may be running.
ZoneAlarm strongly advises against running two antivirus solutions at the
same time because significant computer performance issues, and even frequent
crashes, may occur."

I'm quite sure I enabled the Windows antivirus before I installed ZoneAlarm
because it popped up - I wasn't protected at the time (ZoneAlarm trial
version previously expired) so I thought I needed to do that. I didn't know
the above info. I need to know the path to disable the Windows antivirus.
Thank you.

If you have XP and not installed any other Anti-virus program...you do not
have an Anti-Virus.
XP never came with one..........and we have no way of knowing what came with
your system or what you have installed.
You can look under Control Panel/add&remove to see if you can identify any
anti virus program that you might have.
You can look under start/all programs/accesories/system tools/security
center to see if there is an Anti Virus program detected....is Virus
Protection listed as on or off???

There is no such thing as "Windows anti virus" and anti virus does not
come with Windows.

If you already had anti virus, either you installed it or it came with
the computer.

Open the Security Center and see what anti virus is installed.
ZA may be all that is listed.

Could it be you really mean Windows Firewall, which may conflict with Zone
Alarm's firewall. Two firewalls running at the same time could cause
problems, so if your Zone Alarm software includes a Firewall feature then
turn of Window's built-in firewall and only use Zone Alarm's firewall which
is the better product.

Not possible. Windows has no anti-virus capability.
