[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]
[TOP ISSUE - Are you having difficulty opening presentations in PPT 2003
that you just created in PPT 2003? -

OK, Ignore my previous post. The security update will make no difference in
this scenario.
Basically what is happening is that you have a mismatch between the
language version of the PowerPoint Viewer on your system and the MSO.dll
(their digital signature has different dates). Because of this, Package for
CD will refuse to create the image since it assumes that the reason for the
mismatch is that *.exe or one of the *.dll's have been tampered with
So, the workaround is to
1) NOT include the Viewer when using Package for CD and, instead,
2) Use the Copy to Folder feature in the Package for CD dialog and
3) add the necessary Viewer files, "autorun.inf" and "playlist.lst" after
the fact and then,
4) Burn the contents of the folder from outside of PowerPoint
If you are planning on using this feature a lot, you will want to do some
further investigation of your Office and PowerPoint Viewer installation to
make clear up the language/localization mismatch between the office and
Viewer files so that the digital signature check does not fail when using
the Package for CD feature and avoid having to resort to this manual
workaround.
