Device Installer Error

Following hard drive crash, reloading Canon Powershot S30
software gives me "device installer error" saying:

Windows could not find the installer for Image. Contact
your hardware vendor for assistance.

Any help provided would be appreciated!

Were you using the camera at the time of the crash? I'd recommend you
disconnect the camera from your computer. Then uninstall any software
associated with the device. Next - reboot your computer and then plug the
camera back into the computer and then complete the New Hardware manager.
