Device Installer Error

I cannot find anywhere an error message I have been
receiving whenever Windows tries to install either
updates or programs. It reads:

"Windows could not load the installer for Image. Contact
your hardware vendor for assistance."

Any help would be appreciated. This is not a hardware
specific issue.

David, check here http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_abc.htm Select W
and scroll down to WinUpdates. Also, go
to Classic Control Panel>Admin Tools>Services. Make sure that the
Windows Installer is set on Manual or Auto.
