deleting files

Why when I highlight several file to be deleted to I end up with endless
copies of the exact file I tried to delete?

If you hold down CTRL and click the first file and then click the second
file but whilst clicking it you move the file as much as 1 mm then windows
will start to copy them.

The easiest way is to mass delete is by dragging them into a new folder and
then deleting the folder. or being very careful when CTRL and click is used.

Don't use the mouse; use the keyboard. In this case the up/down arrow
keys, combined with Shift, or Ctrl plus Space to select.

Thanks so much. At least I know it was something legit and not the gremlins
that seem to occupy some of my space at times.
