Deleted services from Admin Tools

In an effort to get Win2K running a little faster, I removed all of
the following services from the Administrative Tools folder on the
Control Panel:

Component Services
Computer Management
Date Sources (ODBC)
Event Viewer
Local Security Policy
Performance
Server Extensions Administrator
Services
Telnet Server Admistrator

The computer is definitely running faster (MS Office apps don't take
20 seconds to open, and another 20 seconds to load files). The thing
is, though I don't really know what any of these services actually do!

Are there any of them that I should restore, because either:
1. They are essential to the security of the computer, or...
2. They support some service or program that I am likely to need at
some point?

Thanks in advance for all replies.

Steve,

It seems strange that removing those entries from the Admin Tools
folder made any difference. They are only shortcuts to the programs
themselves. The programs are in any case not loaded until you run them
by clicking on the shortcut.

They will have no affect of the system, except that they will not be
available for use if you need them from the menu, but you could run
them directly from Explorer if you know their true location..

Cheers,

Cliif
