Here are my 2 ones so far! Have got an awesome sun set one but it's too big at the moment.

Tweaked more of the configs, and i think you'll agree, Crysis looks how it's meant to now!

Nice work Belloni, I'm looking forward to playing this game - I'll be sure to give those tweaks a go.

Does the game look much better than the MP demo when it's tweaked?

V_R: frame rate is around 20-30FPS but this is completely smooth no matter what.

Config so far:
con_restricted=0

r_VSync=1
d3d9_TripleBuffering=1
r_ssao_quality=1
r_ssao_amount=0.2
r_SSAO_darkening=3.3
r_TerrainAO_FadeDist=1
r_HDRlevel=0.75
r_TexturesStreaming=0
r_ColorGradingDOF=0
r_ShadowJittering=1
r_ShadowBlur=0
e_gsm_lods_num=4
e_shadows_from_terrain_in_all_lods=0
r_UseEdgeAA=2
e_shadows_max_texture_size=768
e_view_dist_ratio=45
e_particles_lod=0.7
e_vegetation_min_size=1.5
e_view_dist_ratio_vegetation=50
r_sunshafts=1
e_water_ocean_fft
e_detail_materials_view_dist_xy=4096
s_SpeakerConfig=5
r_UsePOM=1
e_lod_ratio=6
e_terrain_lod_ratio=1.5

q_ShaderShadow=1
r_EyeAdaptationBase=0.2

Ian: On "Very High" spec, it's good, but with the tweaks, it just looks so, so much more realistic. You have to see for yourself really.

(Note i am using Vista V_R, this takes a decent FPS bashing compared to XP, so you'll get more)

EDIT: Had to add the boat ones! ;)

In the "Core" level, started becoming very stuttery so lowered the settings a bit, any of you experience this?

The new new 169.09 Vista 64-bit drivers have given me a 5 FPS boost, so i'm going to play with the configs more ;)

What sort of fps you getting?

Are you running in DX9 or DX10 mode?

Can you post your current config please?

EDIT 2, you still on the config you posted in post 207?

Just looked at the timestamp of that screeny i posted and its from an old config. Belloni, try this one, its my newest one. Our systems are very similar, i would be interested on how your quad goes up against my E6600. What clocks you running on your GTX? :)

From what i've read Crysis seems too lack in the quad core support area, until they release a patch?

DX10 + Vista so it's less FPS then i would get with XP already.

It's smooth as butter at aroung 25-30FPS.

I shall give you config a go tonight, see how it runs. :)

Have you tried changing 'r_VSync=1 & d3d9_TripleBuffering=1' to 0? it will turn off vsync, may help your frame rate a little. :)

Right, just had a play with your config Belloni. Results below. :)

All at 1680x1050 resized to 1000x625, with all at high and configs applied.

If i'm honest, (dont take offence here), i think you have a little too much HDR, but thats just my opinion. The frame rate is much the same only a few in it. But visually they all look superb! :thumb:

One thing i did notice, and i have no idea why, But is it just me or do your shadows look stretched in the last pic? Do you get that?

Either way, its a great game and we enjoy playing it, and thats what counts! :D

Anyone else tried a custom config yet??

Just for comparisons sake heres the same two screens WITHOUT the config files applied. :)

1195585940.jpg

Well i know which ones i prefer. :D
Seems without the configs now my shadows in the second shot look stretched. :confused:

For anyone else reading this, I know there is a fps drop with the configs applied but thats because the configs apply some of the 'very high DX10 features' like sunshafts through the trees etc. Obviously not 'true DX10 as i am running XP, but you only get the 'very high' option in vista. ;)

Or no patch, as the case may be ;)

Its easy Flops. :)

If you want to try it, just unzip the below file straight into the "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis" folder.

Just delete the system.cfg file again if your not happy and it will be bakc to normal. :)

My first post for ages.

I've been doing one full time and two part time jobs forthe last 7 months just to get my new bits just so I can do justice to Crysis.
I now have a Core2Duo 6550, Vista Premium, 3gb ram, 2x 160gb Maxtors, Akasa 460w PSU and a BFG8800GT. Hopefully it's paid off!

Mind you, I've now decided to torment myself and wait 'till Xmas.
