CPU error after installing SP1a

Guest

After installing SP1a my computer fails to start claiming
I have an improper CPU frequency setting.

It only runs the first command screens and then re-boots.

I have gone over mother-board and BIOS, and checked that
everything is in order, and it is. Besides, the computer
starts and runs fine without SP1a....

Windows XP Home edition has too many bugs - I need the
service pack to work!

Help!

Thanks, Jamp

Your problem sounds like hardware, not the OS. In the BIOS screen, set Halt
On to "No Errors". Save and exit.
