Couple of outlook 2000 questions

Tim

I have a couple of Outlook 2000 question I would appreciate the answer to if
anybody can help, Outlook is standalone and not connected to an exchange
server:

When starting a new e-mail the reciepents name is entered in the to box e.g.
tim then the subject is entered but the name does not change to the e-mail
address even though Tim is in the address book??

How do I get the address of the sender of an e-mail to be entered in to my
address book when I reply to their e-mail.

Rather a confusing post. You did not post enough information here to permit
a guess, let alone an answer.
Outlook 2000 was an odd version that is no longer supported. It existed in
two completely different modes, neither of which worked well. The mode you
are using would be essential to know. If you don't know, then look at line 2
of Help | About and tell us.
You state that when starting a new message the recipients name appears in
the To: field. A new message would never do that. Please try to state more
accurately what you mean.

when you enter tim into the To: field, do you then do an
alt-K? to present the options, if tim is the only tim in
your address book it will be presented as that address

If you are replying to an email just using the "reply"
button should fill the address

I have 0utlook 2000, works as above
