Cookie Prompts

Hello,

For some reason , all of a sudden I started getting prompts to allow or
block cookies at most of the websites I visit.

My security setting under Tools > Internet Options > Security > Internet
is set to Medium (default).

Can anyone give me directions how to turn this annoyance off?

Thanks,
Roy

Hi Antioch,

Your links led me to a fix. What was happening was that the checkbox to
override cookie handling was checked at Tools > Internet Options > Privacy >
Advanced. Unchecking the box fixed the problem.

Thanks a lot for your help!

My apologies. I didn't know about crossposting until I got your message. I
didn't even intend to multipost at first, but when there wasn't an answer to
the first post after a considerable wait (and the whole newsgroup looked
pretty inactive), only then did I post again on what looked like a relevant,
but more active group.

Incidentally, I looked for a way to delete the first post before posting the
second one. Of course, there's no way to do that (as probably there
shouldn't be.) Oh well, live and learn.

Thanks for the new info.
