Control Panel is missing

H

Honjo

I logged off and then logged in as Administrator. Then I found that
Control Panel is missing from a list of Settings. Then, I attempted to
see Properties of My Computer and the following message is displayed:

This operation has been cancelled due to restriction in effect on this
computer. Please contact your system administrator.

I carried out repair-install but the problem left unresolved.

Is there a way to fix this problem? Any suggestion would be
appreciated.

Run %windir%\system32\gpedit.msc
User Config\Admin Templates\Control Panel, then change Control Panel access
back to "Not Configured"

Dave, thanks for your response. The problem have been resolved.
I found that it was set as "Not Configured". I tried "Disabled", then the
problems went away. I subsequently reverted it back to "Not Configured" but
the problems did not come back. I do not know what is the difference between
"Disabled" and "Not Configured" , and why the above process resolved the
problems.
Thanks again.
