connecting computers

trying to connect 2 computers - one in the family room &
one in bedroom. Purchase linksys routers for both
computers & installed. Understand we are now wireless -
no cable though a cable exists with the old computer.
Old computer is Me2000 - new computer is Hewlett Packard
XP. Having difficulty transferring files & settings from
old to new computer. Tried Wizard transfer - do not have
the XP CD (should it have come with the computer?).
copied Wizard transfer onto a floppy. Where do we go
from here? Can I use new computer as the host & old
computer as the client or must it be vice-versa. PLEASE
HELP!

Hi Herbert,

You actually only need one router. In my setup, my girlfriend has a desktop computer (Win98) in the computer room. I use a
laptop with wireless and move around the apartment. When I set up the network, I simply used the Network Wizard in WinXPhe. It
made a disk that I popped into the desktop, and away I went.
