computer freezes - cant shut off

while on the internet, i have been getting a error message
IEXPLORE pge fault - Mod KERNEL 32.DLL AT 01-09BFF666AE.
I RUN NORTON ANTI VIRUS. THIS HAPPENS EACH TIME I GO ON
THE INTERNET. SOLUTION??? I MUST TURN POWER OFF AT
PLUG..CANT EVEN TURN COMPUTER OFF ..THANKS

hey Maryanne-

do you happen to recall what you did just before this
happens? Was it selecting "Favorites" from the menu bar?
Entering a form field? using the scrollbar? These are the
things I've been doing and my computer has been almost
doing the same thing (only sometimes it locks up that bad,
but I almost always get the KERNEL 32.DLL garbage.

Get and run these programs (if you test after each one you can stop when
the problem is gone):
Ad-Aware:

Once installed make sure to update via online before scanning!
