Changes to Start-up Programs by QuickTime Allowed by MSAS

OK, I use quicktime to watch movie trailers. That's it. I can't tell you
how many times I've diabled this thing via msconfig only to have MSAS add the
blasted thing back into my start-up programs. How do I keep this from
happening? IN MSAS I've gone into Advanced Tools/System Explorers, selected
"Startup QuickTime qttask.exe" then "permanently remove startup program."
But as soon as I watch another trailer...bam! It's back. Any suggestions as
to how I can stop this? And why does MSAS keeps adding it back after I've
"told it" not to? Thank you.

Microsoft Antispyware won't do this for you, I'm afraid. This is a frequent
request/misconception. The blocking action persists for the current boot,
but the code isn't flagged as spyware, so it runs the next time around.

Microsoft Antispyware does not allow you to flag arbitrary code of your
choice as spyware, and it won't create a permanent block at your choice.
The blocking settings in the system explorers are intended to help you get a
system clean of malware, but not prevent or interfere with legitimate
non-spyware code which you've knowingly installed, and could just as easily
uninstall.

I understand the behavior you are bothered by--I don't like it either, and
there is no setting in the app to prevent it. Microsoft is not the vendor
of this app, however--so we both need to talk to Apple about this.

iTunes does the same thing. Apple's answer is that is how are product works
deal with it. Which is a bad response from a company

They'll listen when people vote with their dollars. Or raise enough stink
that it becomes a PR issue. I don't think Microsoft's apps are ill-behaved
on the Mac platform--why can't Apple manage the same on Windows?

Because they don't care, If you use a Mac the mac OSX does the same thing
it forces stuff on you that you don't need to start, move player audio
player etc. The same they do on the PC. That is why I would never use a
mac or buy an apple product since Apple does not care about the consumer.
But the consumer does not care either (only a few of us :) )
