Certain buttons/content do not display on web pages

Running Windows XP and Internet Explorer 6. On some web
pages certain buttons, and or content will not display. I
have tried reseting all the defaults on Internet Options,
emptied the cache, deleted all cookies, performed a clean
start up, etc. I even tried to download the newest
version of SUN Java but I couldn't get the download
button to display to download manually! The automatic
download didn't seem to work either...

I have checked for spyware with Spybot and checked for
viruses on Symantec's web site, both come up clean. I
have also tried to change display settings with no
results. I tried to reinstal IE 6 but there was no
difference then either.

Any assistance will be appreciated.

I've been experiencing similar problems. Sometimes, I
can click on view -> encoding -> and select user-defined
to see the content, but it's a lousy thing to have to do
over and over again.
