Can't send or receive Windows Email

Setting up a new Dell with Vista Premium Home Edition for the 1st time.
Previous machine was with XP and Outlook Express. Worked fine until computer
broke down. Using same parameters as Outlook Express; does not send or
receive messages on the Dell/Vista setup.

I also have a 2nd computer with XP Professional and Outlook Express mail
with the same ISP(Comcast) and it works fine. Internet Explorer on the
Dell/Vista works fine. I have also upgraded Vista to SP2.

I am almost ready to give up on Vista and install XP Professional on the
Dell. I did not purchase Dell Tech Support and they want $70/hr to address
this problem which they might not solve. I had a problem with a Vista
imcompatible HP business printer and Dell's
Tech Support wanted to sell me a Dell printer. HP's printer support site has
a work around to make my printer work with the Dell/Vista.

Will appreciate any response.

Make sure your Comcast account settings in Windows Mail
agree with this:
http://www.comcast.com/Customers/FAQ/FaqDetails.ashx?Id=2288

Note that the outgoing server now requires port 587 rather than port 25.
Also, "My server requires authentication" must be checked.

If you continue to get an error message when you try to send or receive,
right-click on your error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.
We can't do much troubleshooting without the complete error message.

pop3 is an invalid server name, please tell us who is your mail provider or
ISP also tell us the last part of your email address, the part after the @.
