I see this is an ongoing problem. My account works just fine. My husband's
is not working. We have gone through all the resetting with Comcast, all
info is correct. We have logged in, established there is an internet
connection THEN receive Error Number 0x8000CCCOF which says the server has
unexpectedly terminated the connection. This came up even while on the phone
with Comcast who verified there WAS an internet connection.
PLEASE help.
Comcast said call Microsoft, Microsoft said call DELL.

Nothing is working.
Thanks for helpful info.

This problem is caused by running a non-compatible antivirus.
Sometimes it takes months, but eventually McAfee or Norton antivirus
will corrupt your mail account. To prove this, uninstall the antivirus,
reboot the computer, then try Windows Mail. If there is improvement,
let us know, and we can recommend a couple of free antivirus programs
that are compatible with Windows Mail.

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no protection not provided by the regular
resident protection.
Besides that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail and
Outlook Express and should be uninstalled. The latest version of Trend's
anti-virus seems to be causing problems too.
