can't send emails to certain addresses

I keep getting error messages when I try to send email to certain addresses.
There dosen't seem to be any pattern to which ones I can or can't send to as
I have previously used some of these. I can't reply to anything from work, I
must go to web based mail for this to work. this is the message I keep
receiving when trying to send from windows mail, same message each time just
substitute different email addresses.

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was '(e-mail address removed)'. Subject 'camper pics.',
Account: 'mail.adelphia.net', Server: 'mail.adelphia.net', Protocol: SMTP,
Server Response: '550 relaying mail to aol.com is not allowed', Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

The error message is indicating that you are connecting from a
network other than Adelphia.net. Cross-network use of port 25
SMTP servers is not allowed. Unfortunately, cable providers like
Adelphia tend to be very unaccommodating in that regard.

Adelphia went bankrupt and out of business over a year ago. It was acquired
by Time Warner, Comcast, or another ISP, depending on your location. You
should be using the other ISP servers, like you were instructed.
However, I still get email addressed to my old Adelphia account, which gets
forwarded to my Roadrunner account.
