Can't install SP-2

I tried to install winXP service pack 2 and got the following message:

Setup cannot copy the file atapi.sys

Ensure that the location specified below is correct, or change it and insert
"Windows XP System Files" in the drive you specify.

Copy files from:
c:\windows\system32\drivers

The directory c:\windows\system32\drivers does exist on my system.

What is going on?

What is going on?

Do you have any virtual drive software installed. If so uninstall it.
Another option is to rename atapi.sys on your drive when this message
comes up and then continue the install.
