Can't Get Windows to Start Up, Black Screen

I recently downloaded a trial version of Norton Antivirus and after scanning
my laptop it found a few viruses and even more spyware. I cleaned twelve of
the thirteen but a window popped up saying that I would have to manually
remove the thirteenth program myself. I copied the directions to a blank
document and restarted my laptop in safe mode like the directions said but
now my laptop won't start up again, at all. I push the power button but the
screen stays black the whole time, the only button on my laptop that gives
off any signal that it's working is the caps lock light which still turns on
and off and then the power button still lights up. Nothing else lights up or
gives any sign of activity though. I've tried putting in the operation system
CD and I can feel it spinning around in the drive but nothing else happens.
Right now I'm on my brother's computer. If anyone can help me I'd really
appreciate it, but I don't know much about computers so I'd need the
directions explained clearly.

Do you get anything at all on the screen when you power up?

No nothing at all it just stays blac the whole time. I have to use an
external moniter though because my little brother broke the screen a while
back, could the moniter have anything to do with it?

You tested the monitor on another sys?
Does your laptop have a HD light?
If it has a floppy drive see if it boots using a boot floppy from
www.bootdisk.com

I tried the floppy disk thing and it was a no-go. My monitor is fine, I
tested it on another computer. Thank you very much for trying to help but I
think I'm going to have to bring my laptop into the shop.

If it wont boot from a floppy then the shop is the place to go
