Can't Delete Folder

On an external hard drive I created a folder. I copied some files into it,
then when I was done I tried to delete it and can't. I get the Message:

Cannot delete System Volume Inoformation: Access is denied. The source file
may be in use.

I can add and remove files it it, rename it and change the permissions on
it, but I can't delete it. I tried from two different computers, one Windows
XP and one Windows 2000, and neither will delete it. Anyone know how to make
this go away?

More info on this: Someone said to try the command prompt.
I did RMDIR and it says Directory Not empty.
I go into directory and I see no files but two folders one Called .
and the other called ..
I tried to delete . and it says In use by another process.
I tried to delete .. and it says not empty. I suspect if I go to the next
level of .. I'll have the same issue and it will say In use by another
process.

Tried an application called "Unlocker"?
(Google for it.)

Now THAT was helpful. Thank you. Very cool tool that Unlocker. I'm kind of
surprised the operating system allows it.
